Guests are encouraged to secure all items before entering Shark Bridge. Newport Aquarium is not responsible for lost or dropped items. Children younger than 5 years old must be accompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone. Closed-toe shoes are recommended and shoes must be worn at all times. For the safety of all guests running, jumping, rough play, climbing, food and drinks, hard or soft casts or braces of any kind are strictly prohibited on Shark Bridge. No guest may be carried. I loved watching the kids explore and I always find it fun trying to find all of the creatures that are hiding. Favorites? Miss C loved petting the Stingrays and sharks, Little C’s favorite was the Japanese Spider crab, and Big C was absolutely enamored with the shark bridge and he really wanted to go to the Frog Bog but that wasn’t open. We enjoyed a nice Friday at the aquarium exploring different exhibits, from Cichlids to Stingrays, there was something for everyone to see and love. It’s tough being 9 and missing out on the fun! When you have a concussion sometimes light will bother you and cause a headache (which was the case for Big C) the aquarium wasn’t too bright and had a lot of exhibits that were dark so it was the perfect medicine for him. Although we’re pretty sure he’s going to be an Entomologist, we have a guess that a career in aquatics may be a close second. It probably started with his love of River Monsters on Netflix. Newport Aquarium in KY was so much fun! My son recently got a fish tank for getting good grades and has an expanding interest in marine life. We did make it to Newport Aquarium to explore the different types of aquatic life and had a wonderful time! We deliberately spend this time taking it easy since he’s had a concussion and needed time to heal. We’ve had so much fun spending time playing with their gifts and taking the oldest to basketball games. It comes every year and usually by the end of it I’m ready to send the kids back to school!
